For over two decades, Dr. Jill Manning has been a recognized thought leader, clinician, speaker, and researcher in the field of sexual betrayal, compulsive sexual behavior, and issues related to the impact of Internet pornography on marriages and families.
Her diverse career has afforded her opportunities to be published in leading research journals; to testify before the U.S. Senate about the harms of pornography; to be featured in popular podcasts, magazines, TV shows, and documentaries; and to work clinically with resilient men, women, and youth who are striving to overcome some of life’s darkest challenges.
Dr. Manning is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a Certified Clinical Partner Specialist (CCPS), a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), and a Board Certified TeleMental Health Provider (BC-TMH) who specializes in working with individuals impacted by sexual betrayal in their primary relationship. Additionally, Dr. Manning is an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapist who has completed EMDRIA Approved EMDR Basic Training and is working toward full certification in this trauma treatment modality.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Manning serves as one of the founding board members of The Institute for Mental Health Professional Standards in Denver, Colorado. In the past, she has served on the Board of Directors for Enough is Enough (2015 to 2022), the Association of Partners of Sex Addicts Trauma Specialists (2016 to 2018), and the Utah Coalition Against Pornography (2005 to 2014).
To increase access to betrayal-trauma-specific resources, Dr. Manning produces digital downloads that allow therapists, coaches, and individuals all over the world to integrate high-quality and affordable digital resources into their professional work with betrayed clients or their own self-care efforts. Clients who are working with Dr. Manning have complimentary access to these resources as part of their therapeutic work.
Born in Germany into a Canadian military family, Dr. Manning has lived in various parts of the world. She has practiced in both Canada and the United States. She currently lives in Colorado with her family.
