Raised in Southern California, she is the eldest among three siblings. Kathy pursued her education at Ricks College (now BYUI), graduating with an AA in Nursing. Her journey led her to marry Brad Whitaker, with whom she shares the joy of raising five children and welcoming 19 grandchildren into their lives.
For over 20 years, Kathy balanced her role as a Labor and Delivery nurse with the demands of raising her family across Utah, Colorado, and California. Upon settling in Utah when her youngest child entered High School, Kathy found solace in the proximity to nature, finding daily renewal in the splendor of God’s creations.
